A large body of water with a boat in the distance

"Bethan is a great leader with a gift for motivating people. She is intelligent, witty, and a lot of fun to work with!"

Clay Howey, BCIT and a former congregant.

“Bethan not only brings deep insight and practical knowledge; she creates a space where we feel safe to think, feel, imagine, and grow. Her guidance helped me learn not just from the material, but from myself and my classmates.”

Resilience Circles

Build Resilience Without Burning Out — 8-Session Peer Cohort for Care Professionals/Volunteers

What Are Resilience Circles?

Resilience Circles are small, facilitated learning groups designed for people in caregiving and support roles—health and social services, education, community work, chaplaincy, nonprofit programs, and similar fields.

They offer practical tools, peer connection, and support in finding a sustainable rhythm for work that is often complex, emotional, and demanding.

What You’ll Practice

  • Managing stress and nervous-system load in real time

  • Setting boundaries, clarifying roles, and improving team dynamics

  • Skills for difficult conversations and conflict navigation

  • Reflective practice and feedback that builds trust (without blame)

  • Creating a realistic plan for rest and recovery that fits your role and workload

How They Work

  • One 2.5-hour live session per month (or more frequently, if the group prefers)

  • Offered online, in-person, or hybrid

  • 8–12 participants for emotional safety and meaningful depth

  • open-enrollment cohorts or intact groups

  • Structured facilitation + guided reflection + peer learning

  • Certificate of completion available

  • Cost: CA $800 (invoice/receipt provided)

  • Workbook: CA $49 from the Center for Transforming Engagement

  • Research: A brief pre- and post-course survey from the Center helps support ongoing research

Who It’s For

Care professionals and frontline leaders with regular exposure to stress, complexity, and human need—such as social workers, case managers, nurses, educators, clergy, program staff, coordinators, and team leads.

These Circles also work exceptionally well for existing groups (e.g., ministerial groups, professional peer groups, or staff teams) who want shared support and learning. Session times and frequency can be arranged to fit your group’s schedule.

What They’re Not

Resilience Circles are not therapy or crisis response.

They are structured small-group learning experiences that strengthen how you work, lead, and recover.
